Let’s talk about wedding invitation postage costs!
I know, not the most fun wedding planning topic, but an important one. 💌
With all the excitement that comes with designing your dream wedding invitations, it’s easy to forget about postage. It’s good to take into consideration wedding invitation postage costs when you are factoring in your overall wedding stationery budget. Postage is based on the weight and shape of your invitation. Most standard flat-card invitation suites only need one forever 55¢ stamp, but for pocket invitations or suites that include thicker stocks or layered elements, a two-ounce 71¢ stamp would be required. It’s also good to know that square invitations can cost slightly more to mail than standard rectangular envelopes.
Where to find the best stamps for your wedding invitations.
You can save a trip to the post office and order your stamps online at USPS.com. There are currently floral bouquet and boutonniere sets available that look great with wedding invitations.
My latest obsession has been vintage stamps like the ones featured in this photo. Vintage stamps are a great way to jazz up your outer envelopes. They can match the look and feel of your wedding invitations, pay tribute to your wedding location, or even play into the time of year you are getting married (just google vintage Christmas stamps!).
Another option is to go the custom route and get personalized stamps designed by yours truly. Just don’t forget stamps for your RSVP envelopes too! And for those who need an extra hand, Marlie Renee Designs provides mailing and fulfillment services to help get your gorgeous wedding invitation out the door for you. 😊
